Mission 16
[Not long after this, Cambot comes across Xion in Sora's room. At least, one would think it's Xion, but her hair looks a little too brown--no, wait, it's black as usual, must have been a trick of the light.
It looks like she's checking up on Sora, who looks like he's asleep. Pretty deeply asleep, too; he doesn't seem to be aware of Xion checking his pulse. She looks up when she's done, and she's pretty obviously concerned and tired. When her mouth moves as if she's speaking, Cambot helpfully provides subtitles.]
I can't get him to wake up.

He's more musing to himself with this next thought, but his Cambot subtitles it anyway. Perfectly synced, on top of that.]
So we really can't all exist together outside of this place...
no subject
It seems so.
[Which is kind of sad, because now that she's seen the almanac, she can think of lots of places she'd like to explore with her friends here, Sora and Roxas included.]

Not surprisingly, it's back to giving his subtitles late when he does want his thoughts known.]
Too bad we found out the hard way.
[Roxas had poked at the almanac a bit too and while he would have liked to check some of those places out with Sora, he never planned to. He was too afraid of what would happen if they left the satellite together and now it's been confirmed.]

She nods in agreement, looking discouraged.]
He said once it wasn't fair for us to not be able to have our own lives, but it's not fair for him to have to deal with this, either.
[Xion hadn't planned on it either, but Sora had really wanted to see those cowboys. Even then she'd managed to resist, until he seemed so upset about what had happened with 90's Kid and she thought it might be good for him to get away from the Satellite for a little while.]

[His Cambot doesn't subtitle this until he notices the lack of subtitles and nudges it. Why is it having so much trouble with subtitles when it seems to do fine with just about everything else?]
no subject
Well, nothing that we know of, but I wouldn't know where to start trying to change it.
[Roxas's Cambot likes to be contrary like that.]

[When the subtitle first comes up in another language before quickly being changed to the correct language, Roxas starts to wonder if it's doing it on purpose or if its subtitling system is glitched. Maybe a visit to Gypsy is in order.]
no subject
No, I don't think we can.
[Which is the frustrating thing.
She raises an eyebrow at Cambot's latest trick. Yes, maybe a trip to Gypsy is in order.]
Forgot part of the tag <.<
It's weird, but I get the feeling that things could still turn out okay.
[Aaand this time it's backwards, as if held up to a mirror. Cue face palm.]
'Sallgood.
Really, it's not nice to laugh at Cambot's tricks when they're annoying Roxas, but she has to stifle one when she sees the backwards writing.]
They could. Just because we don't know what to do know doesn't mean we can't find out someday.
[She might not be as optimistic as Sora, or even Roxas, but she's learning.]
Re: 'Sallgood.
Exactly. It might just take time.
no subject
Hopefully not too long.
[She's been enjoying being her own person, here.]
no subject
[And Cambot continues to behave... for now.]
