[Not long after this, Cambot comes across Xion in Sora's room. At least, one would think it's Xion, but her hair looks a little too brown--no, wait, it's black as usual, must have been a trick of the light.

It looks like she's checking up on Sora, who looks like he's asleep. Pretty deeply asleep, too; he doesn't seem to be aware of Xion checking his pulse. She looks up when she's done, and she's pretty obviously concerned and tired. When her mouth moves as if she's speaking, Cambot helpfully provides subtitles.]

I can't get him to wake up.

[Nami looks happy to see Pinkie interested in the cupcake. The question gives her pause, though. While she won't lie, she's not sure how much to reveal. Thank goodness Cambot not only provides captioning, but also listens when she asks him to stop recording.]

Back home, someone...someone made it so that if Xion and Sora got too close, she'd keep getting stronger while he got weaker, until all he could do was sleep. Something on the satellite keeps that from happening, but it looks like it didn't work when they tried to visit Earth with the time machine.

[That's about as simple as it gets.]

I know, but...the longer it takes the more I worry.

[Roxas just shakes his head. Even if it's screwing up, Cambot's subtitles are still a little more convenient than pen and paper.]

It's weird, but I get the feeling that things could still turn out okay.

[Aaand this time it's backwards, as if held up to a mirror. Cue face palm.]

I know. It's... hard, waiting.

[They are.

Really, it's not nice to laugh at Cambot's tricks when they're annoying Roxas, but she has to stifle one when she sees the backwards writing.]

They could. Just because we don't know what to do know doesn't mean we can't find out someday.

[She might not be as optimistic as Sora, or even Roxas, but she's learning.]

[Xion gives Aqua a curious look. That sounds like something said due to having had experience, but would it be rude to ask why?]

[She'll just take a seat with Xion. She can take her time, it's not like Liz has any idea about any of this.]

[Aqua doesn't offer an explanation. It's not a great secret, at this point, but it's not going to get Sora back any sooner either.]

[Roxas gives Cambot a look before he replies. Amazingly, it gets the subtitles right this time.]

Exactly. It might just take time.

[After a moment, Xion asks Cambot to stop recording, but still provide subtitles.]

Back where we're from...Sora and I are connected. As I get stronger, he gets weaker until...

[She gestures towards where he's sleeping.]

Something on the satellite seems to be making it so that doesn't happen, so we've been okay so far. Only, today, we wanted to try the time machine. Once we left it...I was almost at full strength when I arrived here, so...

[She's aware this is not the best, most coherent explanation. It's been a long day.]

[Xion hazards a guess.]

[Xion gives him a small smile.]

Hopefully not too long.

[She's been enjoying being her own person, here.]

Mmm. When he'd just started to live with us.

[Xion nods. She thought she remembered hearing something about that.

That cleared up, she can't think of much more to say and isn't really up to much small talk. Sitting on the bed by Sora, she gestures towards the desk chair. That's for Aqua, if she thinks she'll be staying a while.]

[There's a moment of hesitation, and then Aqua takes the chair. There's nothing she needs to do right now, and so she figures she can offer company for a while yet.]

Sorry, she suddenly got quiet on me.

[Xion smiles, glad for the company.]

[He doesn't either. Whatever happened, well, Sora seems the type to bounce back quickly so hopefully things will work out.]

[He is, and she may be worried over nothing, but she wouldn't be a friend if she wasn't concerned.]

[Maes nods and looks thoughtful. So it's not like Sora ate anything weird or hurt himself he just...fell asleep. And if there had been something in the air then wouldn't Xion have also been effected?

Maes frowns, tapping his pen against his notebook. He then writes.]

Yeah, sorry Xion, but I've got nothing. Do you want to go grab a bite to eat while I look after Rip Van Winkle here?

[Xion considers his offer for a moment, then Cambot subtitles her response.]

I'm not really hungry right now.

Who's Rip Van Winkle?

[Well it's not like her own world is any stranger to unusual happenings. Liz just frowns, looking over at Sora as Xion trails off. It looks like he's still breathing, at the very least. She reaches out to pat Xion's hand lightly.]

[Yes, he's still breathing. Thank goodness Xemnas has been content so long as the real Sora was simply not able to act. Xion manages a wan smile at the gesture, but isn't up to talking much more.]

A story about a man who went into the woods and fell asleep for a long time.

[Now is probably not the time to say it was about a man who slept for decades and woke up to find everyone he loved gone.]

But he woke up eventually.
