Episode 06: I See Bad Plot Twists

This week's shenanigans look pretty scattered, right? I mean, we have some people seeing dead people, or ghosts, or possibly sharing hallucinations - whatever you want to call it. On top of that, Terra suddenly has super strength and Riku's afraid of red. [Yep, somebody's been keeping up on what's going on over Cambot.]

It does look pretty random...until you remember that the Mads' special guest during their last transmission was M. Night Shyamalan. Those of you who know who he is probably have a good idea of what's coming next, or at least have a few guesses. Those of you who don't...well, the mermaid in the pool might be friendly but I wouldn't risk it, don't go near the elevators, and stay off the nature deck.

I believe Wally mentioned his movies to me once, but I cannot say I am familiar with them myself. We never got around to watching them.

Well, for starters, I wouldn't be surprised if they started trying to kill people.

I would say "don't go in the water," but that's the last thing we need to invoke right now. Plus, it's the wrong franchise.

The color will not kill you, Riku. Nobody gets out of this sort of thing that easily.

Shyamalan's a director with about three good movies to his name and half a dozen bad ones. All of his movies have a big ridiculous twist in the middle of the story. Seeing dead people and wigging out over red are things that have happened in his movies. So have homicidal trees, elevators with demons, aliens with a weakness to water, and...really bad acting.

That explains the elevator. But understanding the danger of red is reasonable, no wonder it'd be in a movie. Apparently even a bad director can see that.
