[The transmission starts when Riku has obviously given his Cambot a smack. It's static-ey for a moment, but clears to reveal Riku sitting down with a guitar in his lap. He smiles a little, but says nothing, turning his attention to the guitar.]

[And he plays.]

[After the song, he smirks and the transmission cuts out.]

[She crosses her hooves on the table in front of her and lays her head on them, sighing dreamily. There's been a sad lack of music on the Satellite lately (with the exception of that terrible racket last week, but one could hardly call that "music"), and she hadn't realized just how much she'd missed it.]

Ohhhhh, that is beautiful. You are quite skilled with that guitar.

[He smirks.] Thanks.

Is this how you celebrate... [She falters for a moment. Hearth's Warming Eve is a very Equestria-specific holiday, and she'd heard something about a "Christmas," and to be completely honest she wasn't quite sure which holiday would even apply here.] ...holidays, where you're from?

Hm. Some. Playing Christmas songs, decorations, exchanging gifts, making special food... That's pretty standard.

Oh, that sounds just like Hearth's Warming Eve back home. Funny how common that sort of thing is, isn't it?

Tell me, do you have a pageant too?

Huh. Guess as different as some worlds are, there's stuff that's the same.

[Riku pauses to consider how to explain something like that to someone from another world. After a moment, he slowly smiles. As many similarities as there could possibly be, there could be as many differences. But there were some words that could touch the heart of anyone.]

You know... When it all comes down to it? It's about peace, goodwill, and hope being brought to the World.

Oh. [Her reply has a bit of a dreamy quality to it - it's obvious she's thinking of the pageants back home as well.] Those are nice things to have around the holidays, and at any time, really.

[Oh. That doesn't sound good at all. Rarity's smile falters, and a rather worried expression takes its place.]

Oh, dear, I'm so sorry to hear that. Have things...settled down a bit, at least?

[Riku shrugs it off and offers a little bit of a sincere smile.]

Yeah, actually. The worlds are safe now. And... I guess that's one good thing about being stuck here.

[Her smile isn't quite as bright as before, but when Riku replies, it's back in place.]

That is good to hear. I'm glad you've found your silver lining for this place, at least.

Funny. My friends and I have been in danger for so long. Sometimes I don't know what to do with myself.

[There's a hint of that worry again - she doesn't like the idea of anyone being in constant danger, never mind a new friend - but she pulls on through.] Perhaps a bit of relaxation to start. I know that helps me when I've been...stressed...for a long while.

[He shrugs, picking idly a simple few notes from "Jingle Bells."] I feel like I have been. I've been spending plenty of time on the track, but it's been a long time since I've done this much sitting around, too.

That's not quite what I meant, dear. When was the last time you relaxed your mind? When did you last stop worrying about things and just enjoy whatever you're doing? Because that's the sort of relaxation I'm talking about.
