WHAT SORT OF... [Luna flinches as her "traditional Canterlot voice" (or what's left of it here) bounces back at her. Curse the acoustics of this place!]

[She tries again.] What sort of trickery is this? We have done our penance. Nightmare Moon is no more. We have reconciled with our sister. We are loved once more by our subjects! WE DEMAN-... [Ow, the ears. She’ll remember this eventually.]

We demand to know who is responsible for trapping us among the stars once again! [Luna stomps a hoof for emphasis. When there is no immediate answer, she sits down and pouts a little.]

Basically, we've all be taken from our worlds and put on this orbiting satellite in space. We're currently under the whims of two mad scientists - though they're not really very competent mad scientists, so don't worry about them too much - and they're making us read really bad books. Until we either go insane from how bad they are, or they get tired of us laughing at their attempts to make us go insane and they let us go.

Anyhoo! You're not the only pony on this ship - actually, I'm surprised Pinkie Pie hasn't come and welcomed you with a cupcake yet, since I gotta assume that you're from her neck of the woods, right?...

You'll TOTALLY love it up here, there's lots of stars and stuff and sometimes you can see the moon outside and everybody inside is really nice and Fluttershy and Rarity are here and - Wow, you got really tall!

Nightmare Night?

Wellllllll, we just had Nightmare Night up here - except everybody called it Halloween instead, which is a really weird name because I mean what IS a Hallo Ween anyway, but anyway you just got here, so it couldn't have been then! Last Nightmare Night in Ponyville, though...wow, I don't remember seeing you there either! You must've had a REALLY great costume!

Well, Nightmare Night's all about getting candy and then Nightmare Moon comes to - OHMYGOSH! Luna! You would be a GREAT Nightmare Moon! That would be SO much fun, you TOTALLY have to come next time!

Oh, but I wasn't a chicken last year! I was a sea pony! I waaaaas thinking about maybe being a chicken this year, but then I came here and they didn't have any chicken suits so I was a Joker instead!

Oh, that's easy! I was baking cupcakes! It was the day after the Grand Galloping Gala, and even though we ended up having a really REALLY fun night all by ourselves I thought everypony might still be a little disappointed by what a totally boring party it turned out to be, so I thought I'd throw a This-Is-Totally-Better-Than-The-Gala-Anyway Party! Hey, maybe once everypony else gets here I'll throw it for real! After the giant welcome party, of course, that has to come first!
