Chapter 1 - A New Face

[runawayprincess]

[ The camera is floating along, recording seemingly nothing. the hallway is empty. But then, it gently swings around the corner. Aha. There's a new face. Or, rather, a new back -- long dark hair tied at the bottom, legs in marigold, with little red ankle-high boots. Click, click, click, are her heels as she walks slolwy down the hall, until she comes to the end. She looks left, looks right, gloved fingers reaching up toward her lips in a thoguhtful pose. Then, she turns over her shoulder. Ah, now there's her face. Her gaze lifts to the floating little camera.]

It's a bit unnerving, with you following me like that you know. [yes, she's talking to the camera] I don't suppose you can tell me which way to go? [and the camera swings back and forth, as if shaking it's head 'no'. The girl frowns, and turns back to her dilema. Left.. or Right?]

Well, THAT kinda depends on where you wanna get to!

[A pink pony comes merrily bouncing down the rightmost corridor, bearing a cupcake on a platter.] But you don't have to go ANYWHERE to get cupcakes, 'cause I've got one for you right here! Welcome to the Satellite!

[runawayprincess]

[She jumps back a bit. Hadn't the hall been empty just a moment ago? Well, no matter...

Really, she's not as put off by a talking, pink pony, as one might have expected her to be. she regains her composure rather quickly]

Ah... thank you. [she eyes the cupcake warily though, wondering if it's really safe] ...Do you just walk around with a cupcake, just in case? [she's genuinely curious]

[sailorlaughter]

Nopey-dopey! My Pinkie Sense told me there was a new person here, so I came to find you!

[She raises a hoof to her chin thoughtfully.]

Maybe I should start carrying emergency cupcakes...I used to stash them around Ponyville in case of cupcake emergencies, but I had to replace them too often!

[runawayprincess]

Well, if you just go hiding food like that, someone is going to find it and eat it before you know it. ...that, or it'll go stale.

[Hesitantly, she finally reaches down to take the cupcake. No sense being rude.] You said you... have a sense for these things? When new people arrive?

[sailorlaughter]

That's okay! Anypony can eat them - that's what emergency cupcakes are FOR!

You bet! And lots of other stuff, too!

[runawayprincess]

I suppose that would be true... [she almost laughs] Though I imagine a lot of people wouldn't consider there to be such a thing as a 'cupcake emergency'. [she gently peels the paper from the cupcake. still not eating] ...could you show me around?

[sailorlaughter]

There's ALWAYS a cupcake emergency somewhere~!

Sure! I just LOVE showing new people around! Where do you wanna start? We could go to the cafeteria, or we could go find an empty bedroom for you to move into, or we could go in the recreational deck or the theatre deck and see if anything fun's happening...

[runawayprincess]

Hey, hey, slow down! That's an awful lot to take in! Is there really all of that in this place? [she looks around, somehow not convinced. ...but then again she's talking to a pink pony who gave her a cupcake.]

[sailorlaughter]

Uh-huh! There's even spacesuits and jetpacks, so you can TOTALLY go outside if you want! You just gotta stay close!

[runawayprincess]

Outsi-- But there's nothing out there! [Really, REALLY nothing.]

[sailorlaughter]

Nopey-dopey! That's what makes it so easy to fly around!
