Seventh Key

[optimistickey]

[Cambot is just wandering around the halls on the Recreation Deck when it happens to catch Sora heading by. He happens to wave to the camera, when there's a flash of black and gray from above. Sora's spectre jumps down from one of the walls (how did it get up there?) and lands on Sora.]

HEY! You--

[Sora tries to flip the spectre off of him, but having his strength, it just flips him back over on the ground again. There, it proceeds to grab his throat with one hand, effectively pinning him down.]

[The spectre is talking to him again...and whatever it says, it puts a rather horrified expression on Sora's face.]

...No!--

[Sora struggles to get the double off of him, but it just presses down harder on his throat...then brings a leg up, preparing to smash its shoe into Sora's face.]

[Then, all of a sudden, there's a bright pink flash, and POOF! The spectre screeches, and then disappears.]

[Sora slowly gets up, and looks around. The spectre is nowhere to be found, but he still looks shaken.]

...Is it gone? What happened?

[Sora doesn't notice Riku moving at first, until he hears those painful sounds. He's not trying to move now, is he?]

[Riku manages to hide his pain pretty well as he moves down the halls. He's good at that.]

It may have vanished, but we don't know it's gone yet.

[Sora is less concerned about that and more about the fact that Riku should be resting! At least his didn't hurt him that badly!]

What're you doing? Your side's still injured!

[halfdarkened]

[His expression is very firm.] And you're my best friend. Being hurt doesn't keep me from fighting. [Trufax.]

[optimistickey]

[Yeah, that's the kind of answer he would expect.]

I know, but...I can take care of that thing myself! [Never mind that it was trying to choke him just a minute ago.]

[halfdarkened]

Weren't you the one getting after me for doing stuff on my own? [He smirks slightly.]

[optimistickey]

[Gah! But that's...different!] Yeah, but...you were doing stuff on your own the wrong way! [Not that that explains much.]

[halfdarkened]

[Riku pauses in the middle of the hallway and gives Sora an odd look through Cambot, who adds a sound effect. He rubs the bridge of his nose and resumes walking.] How was I doing it the wrong way?

[optimistickey]

By trying to help when I'm not really hurt and you're injured! That should be the other way around! [Yeah, he ALMOST got far worse off, but Riku's still recovering.]

[halfdarkened]

That still doesn't explain how I was doing things wrong then. Remember that time when you had to carry me by my arm and my belt? Yeah, I'm nowhere near that.

[Riku appears in the Recreational Deck, at which point he supplements his last statement.] I really can walk.

[Okay, maybe not. Sora's running out of good reasons for Riku to not come, at least compared to past actions, beyond just that he worries after him.]

Okay, okay! I just want you to be careful, is all. It's harder to recover from injuries without cure around here.

[halfdarkened]

I know. [Riku walks over to him, hand on the hilt of the cutlass with a smirk.] Makes it more important for you not to get hurt, too.

[optimistickey]

[Fine...guess he's not going to convince Riku to rest now.] Fine, fine.

...But I don't think that thing is around anymore.

[halfdarkened]

Then you don't have to worry about me getting hurt worse, huh? [Riku suspected Sora was right, but given the surprise they got from Xemnas, he didn't want to take that chance right now.]

[optimistickey]

[Sora slumps over.] ...I guess not. But then that still means that the best thing you should be doing is resting, if I'm not in any danger!

[halfdarkened]

[Riku shrugged. Sora had him there.] How do you know for sure if it's gone?

[optimistickey]

I don't know for sure...but it sure did make a nasty noise right before it disappeared. I don't know if it'd do that if it was planning to come back.

[halfdarkened]

Hm... [He pauses.] Compromise? We hang out a while? I got a movie that's actually pretty good to watch.

[optimistickey]

[Unless the shade does show up again, that seems a good idea.] Really? What'd you find around here that's any good?

[halfdarkened]

Dr. Forrester gave me a copy of a movie called "Die Hard" for Christmas.

[He hasn't heard of that one...] What's it about?

[halfdarkened]

It’s an action movie where bunch of terrorists take everyone in a building hostage. One guy, a cop, doesn’t get captured and he has to save everyone in the building, including his wife.

[Well that does sound interesting...a lot better than a lot of the dull stuff around here, anyway!]
