Yeah, apparently not somethin' that's common knowledge here, so I'm gonna break it down for ya.

It's where people go when they die - the big, creepy green mass thing that circles the Planet an' keeps it alive? That ringin' any bells?

I do not recall ever seeing something like that in the skies above Arda.

The Lifestream's barely ever in the sky, though considerin' it's part of the Planet, I guess it could be all over? If you don't know about it, then what happens when you die? I can't think of any other way that I know of.

Okay, long story short, when people die back home, they're supposed to immerge with the Lifestream, which is a part of the Planet itself. You're 'returning to the Planet', as some people call it and it's... basically this long, shiny stream that surrounds everything and makes up all life.

That makin' enough sense for you to follow?

Perhaps not, although I believe a satellite merely orbits a planet while a spaceship is assumed to be able to travel further into space. It is a rather new experience for me as well, though I have read about it a little in my studies.
