[There is one very lost Selphie roaming the decks looking utterly perplexed about where she is and how the heck she got here.]

Maybe I took a wrong turn out of Time Compression at the krazy kooky sorceress.

[You know, there's so many things going wrong right now, but one word catches Zidane's attention immediately.]

[Oh wow, he gets to tell her how Squall got holes punched in his memory AGAIN. THAT'S GONNA BE FUN. But for now, it can wait!]

Nah, I'm from somewhere else entirely! But you're from there, so maybe you wouldn't mind answering some questions for me - I keep asking Squall, but you probably know what getting any answers out of him is like.

[Basically like trying to pry open a save with a toothpick. But he gives a grin and a flourishing bow, which unintentionally shows off his nice, long tail, unaware of any possible freakouts from her.]

He mentioned her but he never says anything about her! But Naminé painted pictures of all our friends on the cafeteria deck up there - oh yeah, we're supposed to be up there with you, but for some reason we're world-hopping and we all ended up down here and some of us are pretty crazy right now so watch out - and she's really good and his girlfriend looks gorgeous! So is she?

[Believe it or not, Selphie managed to follow all of that. And it made sense. Except for a name she didn't recognize, but that was ok.]

And yep, Rinoa's super pretty! Her house is ginormous too. Her dad's okay but they don't get along much. Did Squall tell you that he's Rinoa's knight? [Because this relationship detail is very very important.] We saw them getting together ages before he figured it out. Teehee!

[Oh god you guys are going to be BEST FRIENDS FOREVER aren't you Squall better run the hell away now.]

Knight? Squall - our Squall - is a knight? He doesn't even have a suit of armor!

Yep, he sure is! It's super mega important too since Rinoa's a sorceress.

[Hope she wasn't planning on keeping that a secret because the cat is out of the bag.]

Although you know, I don't know anyone who wears armor except for costume parties. Oh oh right! I think Sir Laguna did in that one movie.

That's the only kind of knight, Squall!

[And that's the only thought he'll give to Squall's interjection because seriously BESTEST FRIENDS EVER but wait what the hell. His brain's still blocked over "Laguna" so that doesn't phase him at all but he's sure heard the term Sorceress before.]

Sorceress?! But they're terrible, Ultimecia just tried to destroy everyone all the time and worked with the idiot Emperor to try and tear us all apart!

Yeeeeeeeah. Ultimecia's nutters. That's why they have knights so they don't turn out like her. I think.

[Really, her understanding of all this is second hand information because she wasn't about to go grilling Matron for the scoop.]

[Because they trounced her and if she was here anyway, that is SO not fair.]

Right right! Rin's normal. Totally normal. Like as normal as normal gets. Except for that sorceress thing. And being rich. And being in a rebel group opposed to her dad's job in the army. And her lousy skills at making model trains.

You know it's true, Squall! Ultimecia is an ulta-terror! She's horrible and twisted and nasty and diabolical and crazy and if you tell me you're dating someone like her I'm going to drag you down into the Nature Deck and tie you down in the pond until you come to your senses because do you NOT REMEMBER HOW SHE WAS YOUR ARCHENEMY FOR A GOOD REASON HERE?

I know Ultimecia is! ...Was. But not all Sorceresses are like her. It's about how you use the power.

[Sitting this out for now because she knows darned well that she's not the total pro on sorceresses and stuff... except that Adel and Ultimecia (and Edea while possessed) had to go down. Point and she'll clobber, but she was telling the truth. This is complicated stuff. Because if Rinoa went rogue too... that would be terrible. D:

Don't worry, Zidane. We're supposed to kill crazy sorceresses. We totally trashed Ultimecia.

[Right... explanations. Those are a thing he can do, although he sends a glare Selphie's way first. He'd been trying to avoid needing to bring this sort of thing up.]

A Sorceress is supposed to have a Knight to help protect her, and to... keep her from getting too caught up in her powers, basically. A Sorceress without a Knight runs the risk of becoming a rogue Sorceress, like Ultimecia. SeeD is charged with tracking down and eliminating those rogue Sorceresses.
