Umm, I don't really know exactly how it works. It just usually happens when we're beaming down from the gummi ship to the world.

I guess defense, or also just to blend in. Like the Pride Lands, they were all animals, so we had to look like them, too. And we had to change for Atlantica, since it was all underwater.
