[dadandgone]

[Launch Bay. Cambot is hovering near Maes as the man stares off. He is standing near one of the pods and it looks like he had been about to launch but why will have to wait. Maes closes his mouth and turns to Cambot]

Uh...guys. Please tell me this isn't a further delusion from the ghost vision thing going on. I mean, if it was I'd already be dead, but...here.

[He grabs cambot and turns him towards what WOULD be the open bay doors and the vastness of space...but instead it's a forest. Maes then turns Cambot back to himself]

It wasn't like that before, right? I mean, Pinkie I've seen you go FLOATING out there. We're supposed to be in SPACE, not, well, in some forest.

[The illogical nature of it all might start to be getting to Maes.]

Ah, we ... shouldn't be in a forest. Not unless something went wrong with the launch, anyway.

Well, the rest of the windows still show space...so I'm really not sure which is the illusion here.

You weren't seeing ghosts before were you Aqua?

[He needs to make sure this isn't just a delusion past ghosts or something]

[Amaterasu looks amazed, and then barks in surprise and an attempt to get Maes' attention. Really, that's a forest out there? But everyone said it was just empty space!]

[Guess who's been seeing ghosts this week but has been trying not to let on that she has.

Namine's a little speechless in confusion, at the moment, though.]

You're right. But how...

Just wanted to be sure this wasn't somehow a related delusion or something.

[He shakes his head]

I don't know what to make of it...it could be a way out, but it could also be some kind of messed up trap. Something to get us off the ship and somewhere worse.

[He looks down at the dog]

Yeah, I don't know what to make of it...does it smell real to you?

[Smell was better than sight right?]

You all right there Namine?

I'm not sure yet. This needs to be investigated but all this magic or illusions and stuff was never my area of expertise.

But...someone has to check it out...it could be our way off this ship or something.

[Ammy steps forward a bit, and take a sniff. She cocks her head at it, then looks back up at Maes. It smells...pretty real to her. But something about it is off, and she can't figure out what.]

I'm not sure I'd trust it. It's... too odd, if that makes sense.

[dadandgone]

[Maes cautiously approaches the woods, stepping down the ship's open launch bay doors. It doesn't feel right to him either but, well, SOMEONE has to go explore it. He pauses at the edge and turns back to Cambot]

Cambot. I need you to follow us. If things get bad we'll need you to call the others for help. Also if you can get another Cambot down here to stay at the edge in case he sees something that would be helpful too.

[Cambot bobs up and down and a second later there was another Cambot zooming towards them. Satisfied, Maes turns to Ammy]

Feel like going for a walk, girl?

[He knows she's more than JUST a regular dog, but it's hard not to address her as such sometimes. He may look unarmed but he has enough foresight now to always carry his knives, just in case]

No, that makes sense.

I don't trust it either...[but, he's obviously going to check it out anyway]

[Ammy nods at Maes, and steps out with him into the forested area. It definitely feels and smells like real forest to her.]

[She looks over her shoulder, but doesn't see her reflector or feel her brushes back. Weird...she's gotten her powers back whenever she used the time machine to go into the past. Why don't they come back now? Is there something other than the ship messing up her powers?]

[Regardless, it's time to press on into the woods.]

We'll go as far as we can, but we should probably set a limit...say...one hour.

[He turns to the second Cambot keeping watch from the ship.] If we're not back in an hour or if this Cambot stops broadcasting, go get help, alright?

[Maes then turns and the first Cambot follows as Maes heads towards the trees. He's already slipping a knife from his belt. While Ammy could probably smell their way back he's not going to take any chances. Maes pauses at the first tree they come to and digs an 'x' into the bark.

He then peers into the woods, listening closely. Birds are chirping and it couldn't look less ominous...except for the fact there's a freaking space craft a few feet away. He heads into the woods, trying to look for anything strange but not knowing if he's actually going to find it or not]

That's... very odd. Then again, this week has been odder than most.

I couldn't agree more. I hope that Discord guy isn't involved again because I was under the impression we trapped him.

[That sounds good to her. As they walk, she occasionally stops to make sure that the Cambot is still following them, and that the Satellite remains in the distance.]

[There's definitely birds around here, and it smells normal. However, the fact that it's so quiet is what's unnerving. Ammy whines a little bit under her breath as they travel, but it's out of nervousness and concern more than anything.]

Don't worry. There has to be a reason for this and we'll find it.

[He whispers it, but even his voice sounds too loud out here. He stops and marks another tree as they walk.]

[Yes, they have to find out...if there's a way off the ship through here, it's definitely worth investigating.]

[As they walk and they get further away from the ship, Ammy hears something that sounds like leaves rustling. She perks up and turns her head in that direction...it could just be an animal walking through the leaves. It does seem to be heading away from them, anyway.]

[Maes stops when he hears the rustling leaves. Like Ammy, he figures it might just be another animal but typically an animal like Ammy or a dear wouldn't make THAT much noise.

He cuts another 'x' and then looks down at Ammy. He nods in the direction of the sound, indicating that they should follow. He doesn't say it because he wants to try to do so as quietly as possible without tipping the other off. As if to further his point, Maes carefully starts to move after the noise]

[Ammy nods back, and proceeds to follow the sound with Maes. Occasionally the sound returns, although it is always moving away from them. While she wants to run faster since she has the space, the creature could still move away from them, and they have to mark their trail.]

[The trees start to thin out a little as they go forward, but still no sign of the creature they are pursuing.]

[Maes makes the marks as fast as he can while still trying to be a quiet as possible. It is no easy task, especially since he was not built for stealth like Ammy was nor is he used to chasing things in a forest.

The woods are thinning our and Maes is sure they'll at least catch a glimpse of what they are pursuing, but so far all he hears are the sounds of the leaves, nothing else]
