[Launch Bay. Cambot is hovering near Maes as the man stares off. He is standing near one of the pods and it looks like he had been about to launch but why will have to wait. Maes closes his mouth and turns to Cambot]

Uh...guys. Please tell me this isn't a further delusion from the ghost vision thing going on. I mean, if it was I'd already be dead, but...here.

[He grabs cambot and turns him towards what WOULD be the open bay doors and the vastness of space...but instead it's a forest. Maes then turns Cambot back to himself]

It wasn't like that before, right? I mean, Pinkie I've seen you go FLOATING out there. We're supposed to be in SPACE, not, well, in some forest.

[The illogical nature of it all might start to be getting to Maes.]

[They keep going, chasing the sound through the woods, when suddenly--]

[--They are stopped by a large wire fence. It reaches about eight feet high, with barbed wire coiled around the top. Ammy skids to a stop right before the fence, yelping. Where'd this come from?]

[As she steps closer, she notices something like an electric hum coming from the fence.]

[Maes drew up short of the fence. Eyeing it cautiously]

Huh. Well, what's this doing here?

[He looks up and down the line of the fence but doesn't see any openings. The barbed wire tells him this is a pretty serious area but which side of it is he on? It's while he is pondering this that he starts to hear the soft hum. This causes him to frown and he puts a hand out to Ammy]

Don't get too close. This fence has an electric current going through it and we can't be sure how many volts are running through it.

[Maes shook his head while he studied it]

This fence is protecting something...but what...and what side of it are we on. Whoever or whatever we were chasing...unless they have the ability to jump really high there is no way they are getting over this fence. We should follow it and see what kind of perimeter we're looking at.

Not particularly. But he probably also would have made himself known by now.

He did seem to be the type who likes being the center of attention.

[That was a good question. She did know to stay away from the electric charge...if she just had her brush, then maybe she could direct some of that charge away from the fence. She looks back up at Maes with a reassurance that she knows it's dangerous.]

[Yes, whatever this is for, it's to keep out (or in) something important. She doesn't hear the sounds of the moving creature anymore, so Ammy just picks a direction and starts off around it. Hopefully they'll find an opening in it soon.]

[And she's scrambling off for... something.]

[And in next to no time flat, Twilight had dragged down several of those poles that are used to herd lines from the theatrical deck, no matter how much she had to break her back to do so, lined them up across the entrance to that forest, and is wrapping rope around them to make a barrier and keep people from going out there. Yellow rope at that.]

Maybe. Just be careful? We don't know what's out there, and what with how the nature deck started affecting everyone...

[She looks a bit sheepish.]

[Hughes watches her work. Waiting until she is finished before deciding to ask]

Is there a reason you are roping off the forest?

[dadandgone]

This week has been full of them.

Although this one certainly takes the cake.

A good thing and a bad thing.

But, yeah, this doesn't seem like him even if it IS chaotic. Guess we'll just have to investigate.

[He nods.]

I will. And I already have a tag-a-long coming with me, I think she'll keep me safe.

If things get out of hand, Cambot will let you know, I'm taking him with me as well.

[They walk for awhile, following the fence and not really seeing any changes. Maes resisted the urge to start whistling or something. Instead, he kept his ear out for any movement from the thing they had been chasing.]

[Ammy kept her ears perked for any unusual sounds as well. It seemed like whatever they were chasing either jumped the fence or vanished some other way, and that's even more unsettling than them finding it...]

[Finally, they come to what looks like the gate of the fence, although it is chained and padlocked. They can tell from the gate and chains that they're on the inside of the fence.]

[There's a sign posted above the gate, and barely legible are the words NATIONAL NATURE PRESERVE - KEEP OUT]

[Partners make missions so much easier.]

I'll come down to the launch deck, just in case.

[She's already reaching for her sword.]

Even worse than Halloween in some ways.

[Maes stopped at the sign, frowning slightly as he tried to process what it meant...it didn't make any more sense than anything else he had encountered and he shook his head]

Okay...so we're on some kind of private nature reserve. Why is a space ship in the middle of a nature preserve? It's not exactly something to be preserved, is it?

[dadandgone]

I dunno. At least the ghosts are chasing me around like those stupid scarecrows.

[dadandgone]

Okay. Just don't wander into the woods as well. It would defeat the purpose entirely of you coming to keep an eye out if you got lost out there.

[This makes even less sense to Ammy, too. Shouldn't nature be preserved anyway? Why would you need to fence it off to do that...especially an electric fence?]

[Ammy glances back up at Maes with a confused and helpless look. She has no answers to those questions, either.]

The scarecrows couldn't walk through walls, though, and you could hear them coming.

[Yeah, going into mission mode a little.]

[Maes stares at it a little longer before sighing.]

We should probably head back. This isn't going to tell us much unless we find a park ranger or whatever it was we were chasing.
