I am quite confused. If this is supposed to be 1980s nostalgia then what does that necessarily have to do with my sudden appearance like this?

I was not even born in the 1980s nor am I as familiar with its culture on the surface. Is there, perhaps, someone that can explain?

1980s was a decade of time on Earth and marked by particular popular culture events. I have seen some I recognize, but this...aging effect confuses me.

Well, my knowledge is limited. But a variety of movies and music, fashion, and that sort of thing are what typically entail pop culture.

For example, some of the girls' hair styles would be considered a fashion statement of the time.

[Sora makes a bit of a face.] ...Really? Mostly it just sorta looks like their hair...exploded.

[Don't let any of the girls hear him say that...]

I never would have guessed. [Is that sarcasm? Amusement? Maybe a little.]

Have you ever heard of the movie "Big"?

I am afraid I have not.

It's about a boy who makes a wish to be big and finds himself as an adult the next morning. It was released in the 1980s. I am assuming this is a similar occurrence with... significantly wider range.

I don't know anything about that time period, either. Or for that matter, why you guys all seem to have grown up overnight.

But it's not hurting anybody, so why not just go with it and have fun?

Normally I could but in the past there has been SOME semblance of...sense to this. Not a lot of sense, but some pattern to go by. Halloween themes, everyone as ponies, and things like that.

This. [he gestures to himself] Does not seem to fit within the theme of 1980s that I am familiar with.

Well, maybe somebody else around here knows what it's supposed to be referencing. Besides, is it that big a deal if it breaks the pattern a little?

Not necessarily. However, if it is a break in the pattern it could also point to a clue as to the larger picture of why these things continue to occur or perhaps even how we are brought here in the first place.

Maybe you're supposed to be the age you would have been if you were...born in the 1980s. Wait, what year is it?

I am from the year 2011. I believe the current year of the SoL is 1996.

I will. So far no one has said anything though I am afraid.

Although, I did see that Pinkie was now white and blonde, perhaps that is related.

You humans seem to have only grown taller and older - I don't know why us ponies look so different! There should be some sort of logical connection, but there isn't!

[Which is frustrating her almost as much as the appearance change.]

It is not all of the humans, just the ones considered young adults or teenagers. I have not seen anyone already older looking older than they are.

As for logic, I cannot say. Previous experience has dictated that there is typically a theme to any given event here but I do not see much of one here or an explanation for it I am afraid.
