[Just another day on the SOL - nothing out of the ordinary here. There certainly isn't a furry cat-like alien in full body armour wandering the halls with a glowing wrench, pressing an buttons he can find and fiddling with pieces of discarded metal, no sirree.

And he definitely isn't trying to swat away a certain cambot, following his every move.]

Hey, knock it off. I said I'd find a way outta here, alright?

[If 'a way out' meant wandering around in circles for the past hour. The Lombax's tail swishes once in thought, a gloved hand on his hip as he looks to the side, then up.]

Qwark? Aphelion? Yo! You guys okay?

[The only noise, the only response that fills the halls is cambot's whirring. Something Ratchet really would like to stop circling him every few minutes.

Welp.

Marooned on a spaceship with no other forms of life in sight. This was turning out to be such a great rescue.]

Ah, c'mon. If Qwark's involved, we'd better go help.

I wouldn't try to hit the recording device, the other robots on this ship tend not to like that.

...how bad are we talkin' here? The riot-causing robots, or the ones that one-hit kill you?

[If he'd put his full-swing into it, Cambot wouldn't even be standing right now. He'd just prefer it to not focus on his snout every three minutes, is all.]

I don't think any of them could do those things, but from the stories I've heard, you don't want all hundred-odd copies of Tom Servo chasing you down. It tends to be messy, and we don't have magic or anything that can heal us up here. If you tell it to back away it should, though.

I've taken on an armada of deathbots before, bigger than parts of this ship! I'm sure it's not so bad.

Umm... you also can't do anything like that, here. Whatever this place is, none of us have our special talents anymore.

[Which she... did not react well to. At all. Here's hoping he does better with that.]

What do you mean by 'special talents'?

Well, back home, all the other unicorns and I can use our horns to cast magic spells. See? [She points to the horn, and while she's undoubtedly still got it, there's nothing different about it now.]

Here, though, we can't use any sort of magic. Other people have said that special abilities they had at home don't work, or they're not as strong here. I hypothesize that that's one of the ways this place stops us from leaving.

[Ratchet would say that he didn't believe in 'magic' or special powers, but... well, his friend did get abducted by time creatures. That was certainly enough to bust down some of that skepticism.]

I... hate to break it to you, but I'm not entirely magic. Everything I can do is me and me only. Well, that and the Omniwrench Millennium 12.

[She sighs; she doesn't like being the bearer of bad news, but at least he's taking it better than she did.] It isn't just magic, it's other things, too. It seems like everypony can keep talents they've learned and practiced, but things that are... more unusual don't make the crossing.

Come to think of it, the Wrench has been acting a little funny since I got here. As long as there's nothing to really fight, I should be good?

Heck, even if we are attacked, I can improvise!

That's right! I do wish I had my magic, though - it's difficult getting much of anything done when I can't pick up several things.

That's exactly what I can't do! Back home I can use my magic to move things around, but here I don't have access to it!
