Second Breeze

[It had to happen - Ven showing up has produced a shade of his own, and being the opposite of Ven, the shade is... well, a fucking psychopath. It took a couple of days for them to run into each other, but when they do, the shade's definitely showing multiple personality traits of Ven's least favorite person in the worlds ever.]

Cambot! [That's Ven's voice, and one of the floating cameras turns to capture a chase in progress - but instead of the shade chasing Ven, it's somehow the other way around, both of them going as fast as they can go straight down the corridor and nearly careening off the walls. Ven's also not managed to pick up a sword yet, but he's got something almost as good - a genuine maple baseball bat, straight off the Rec Deck and all nice and shiny and ready for some bashing.] Cambot, find Terra and Aqua! Guys, watch out, he's-

[The shade bursts into (silent) insane laughter before saying something that only he can hear, interrupting Ven and causing him to look even angrier as he passes Cambot by.] No way! I'm not letting you lay a finger on them! GUYS! He's coming for you!

[Because the easiest way to hurt Ven is to hurt the people he cares about. But he's not about to let that happen, as he seems to be taking Rarity's advice to heart, swinging that bat directly at the shade's kneecaps right before they're both out of Cambot's view around a corner.]

[...What? He's nice, he's not a pacifist.]

[Oh. Oh hell no. After dealing with not only her shade, but also helping with Terra's, Aqua isn't standing for this anymore - as soon as she sees Ven's shade, she's grabbing the wooden keyblade Terra gave her for Christmas and heading straight for where Ven is.

It's time for round two, and she isn't going to stand by and wait.]

I'm on my way!

[If only he hadn't left his in Neverland. Ven's trying to corner his shade against an airlock - the fiend jumped his swing - but the shade seems to know his plan and keeps dodging away from them, forcing Ven to follow it. He smothers a yell of frustration; if the damn thing keeps running away from him, his best bet is to hope it runs into a dead end, which he's not too optimistic about.]

[There aren't really a lot of dead ends in the satellite, or rather, not many that Aqua happens to know about. So she isn't too terribly surprised Ven is having difficulties with his shade. Her own had been about as difficult really.

But either way, it doesn't take too long before she arrives on the scene, Rainfell in hand. Here's hoping two-on-one makes things easier!]

[Perhaps not a dead end but Terra, having been on the SoL for awhile was pretty familiar with a number of the decks. While Aqua had taken off after Ven, Terra had taken a more round about method in the hopes of blocking off shade!Ven's escape.

He, too, had a wooden keyblade in hand and as he rounded a corner he caught sight of the psychotic looking shade!Ven with Ven and Aqua not far behind. Terra skidded to a halt, pulled his arm back and while it wasn't as easy to perform with a fake Keyblade, he hurled his wooden one at the shade's head in an impromptu Strike Raid. It would unfortunately not return to him like his normal keyblade would, but it was probably going to hurt having it hurled at his head]

Just be careful he's gonna go for you guys first! [Ven kicks off the wall as the shade is clonked nice and square in the head by Terra's weapon, clearly not anticipating an ambush. The thing stumbles but doesn't quite fall, but Ven's swinging right for those kneecaps again, and the shade's too stunned to jump properly this time. It starts to "yell" something again that turns Ven's expression into one of rage, which is not an expression that's seen very often on his face.]

No way! You never will!

[It doesn't matter that the shade is going to go for them first, Aqua figures. It would've gone after someone and as long as it wasn't Ven, then it was progress, despite what he might have been saying.]

He's right!

[She doesn't know what the shade said. She doesn't need to, and with the shade too stunned to even jump, she wastes little time in swinging in from what she hopes is a blind spot. Luckily for her, it is, and while it's not quite a blow to the kneecaps, it is still a solid hit to the shoulder, which has the side-effect of pulling a fair chunk of the shade's attention to her.]

[It wasn't often Ven could beat him in a fight so Terra wasn't too terribly concerned about facing this shade or about what Ven said about it coming for him first. He had faced his own shade, the worst of all as far as he was concerned, and he was ready to help his friends deal with theirs.

Besides, as far as he was concerned these two shouldn't even HAVE shades, being so close to the light as they were.]

Yeah!

[The keyblade he threw earlier had landed on the floor and he scoops it up as he continues down the hall to block the shade. With its attention on Aqua it's not difficult to come the rest of the way down the hallway and effectively block that exit route. Now they just need to finish it off.]

[He trusts them to take care of themselves - but he's seen first-hand how hard it is for even a Master to defend themselves from the thing they didn't see coming. Still, now that they're all together, fighting like they should be, Ven's got every confidence that this thing is going down.]

[The bat had busted its right kneecap and the not-Rainfell had put a good dent in its shoulder, so the fake Ven is really starting to show the wear and tear. All three of them together and nothing could stand against them, especially not a miserable copy. Terra and Aqua don't need to hear it to be able to tell it's laughing, and the shade does indeed go for Aqua as best it can - the thing keeps moving like it can't feel pain, but it's definitely got severe physical impairments. Its mouth moves again, forming words as it reaches for Aqua, and Ven lets out a yell and throws away his bat, going straight for the tackle to knock the thing to the ground completely.]

Not - a - finger! Guys, find an airlock!

[And with that he punches the thing in the back of the head.]

[Aqua had already been bringing Rainfell up again for another blow even as the shade had been charging in towards her. No love lost here, for all that it does wear Ven's face - and it's largely thanks to that fight with a Ven that wasn't the Ven she'd grown up with. Still, she is grateful when Ven tackles the shade to the ground, although she doesn't let herself relax too much.]

There should be one up a deck!

[Terra winces as Ven actually tackles his shade, before looking across the hall to Aqua. He wanted to help Ven take it out but there was no way he could strike a blow now with Ven on top of the shade like that.]

And how are we supposed to get it there?!

We drag it if we have to! [One more punch and that thing's not moving too much anymore, though it's still spewing vitriol that Ven's not even bothering to pay attention to. Terra and Aqua can probably figure out what's being said if they want to. Ven rolls off the shade to pick up the bat again, falling back a step for Aqua and Terra to step in.]

Let's go.

Right.

[If she were physically capable of it - and certain it wouldn't backfire - she'd pick up the shade and carry it to the airlock. As it is, she shifts her grip on Rainfall and steps in next to Ven with a stony expression on her face.]

The stairs are that way.

[Well, Ven is certainly determined. Terra gives a grim nod, not wanting to stare too much at the rabid shade that still gives him an uneasy feeling. As they head to the stairs he opens the door]

If he gets too heavy let me know...but it shouldn't be too far of a walk.

[And drag it they do! Ven's got the shade by one of the ankles, who wants the other one? The shade tries to thrash around, but it's too wounded to do it well.]

It should be okay. You wanna push it out?

[After a brief pause Aqua grabs the shade's other ankle. She's not gentle about it either. There's no need to be, and she'd be doing no one any good by showing the shade mercy at this point.]

It's your shade. Are you sure you don't want to be the one doing it, Ven?

[Terra, after they get through the door, leads the way to the airlock. He doesn't bother lifting the head since, well, if it gets a few bumps on its head, all the better.]

Aqua is right. I was...[he hates to say this] scared to face mine, but when Aqua showed up, and Rarity, I knew that I couldn't let them face that darkness for me...I had to have some part in its defeat if I was going to learn to move on.

[It's difficult, but he continues. Coming to a stop at the airlock]

We'll help, but this is what you should do Ven.

[The entire way the shade doesn't stop saying crap, but it's actually not even close to as bad as Vanitas was, so Ven's good at tuning it out. The only times it stops are when it gets a good knock on the head, making it yelp in pain and whimper for a couple of seconds before starting it up again.]

I'm good - I've already done this. If you want to, go for it.

[...He's going to give it another kick when it starts taunting again, though.]

Are you sure?

[She's got absolutely no qualms about being the one to toss the shade out the airlock, but only if Ven's positive he doesn't need or want to be the one involved in the issue at hand.]

[Terra, for one, is grateful he can't hear other people's shades. He doesn't want to hear what that thing is saying, but worst of all he doesn't want to hear the yelps of pain in Ven's voice.]

[He doesn't say anything, just starts opening the air lock, waiting for Ven to confirm what Aqua asked]

I'm sure. [There's a firm nod at that as Ven gives the shade one last hard look.] You guys need this more than I do.

Alright.

[Given that Ven's also half-dragging the shade, she can't throw it into the airlock on her own, but as soon as Ven's ready to chuck him in, so is she.]

[The airlock is now ready. Terra steps away from it and moves over to his friend]

You need help there, Aqua?

[He glared at the Ven!Shade. He is sick of these things tormenting his friends. It's bad enough they have to deal with his darkness, but to have to deal with their own, when they don't even HAVE that much. It just wasn't right.]

[And Ven steps back, bat at the ready just in case, waiting for them to toss the thing.]

[As soon as the airlock's ready, Aqua wastes no time in tossing it in. It's not the most expertly done, but it gets it in and perhaps that's all that really matters.]

[Terra slams the door shut, sealing it in. He glances over at Ven and Aqua one last time before pushing the 'Airlock Open' button. The OTHER door slides open and the Shade!Ven is promptly sucked out into space. It wasn't pleasant, but it was effective]

[Much more effective than his fight against Vanitas, considering he hadn't lost his heart this time. Ven relaxes as the thing gets sucked out, turning to grin at the two of them.]

We do make a good team.

[Like Ven, Aqua relaxes when the shade gets sucked out into space. It's cruel, perhaps, but it's effective and after her shade she can't feel particularly bad about the deed.]

Of course we do.

Heh, you thought we didn't?

[He turns back to his friends. He wanted to make sure they were okay. Facing your darkness was never easy, he knew that better than anyone]

[Nope, Ven is totally fine. He wasn't kidding when he said that he'd already faced his darkness, and won.]

Nah, I knew we did! We just proved it again.

[It's not her darkness, so Aqua's perfectly fine. Sure, the shape and nature of it was more than enough to remind her of a fight she'd never wanted to have. But that's her one demon to bear.]

Right.

[Terra smiles slightly.

Yeah we did.

[He ruffles Ven's hair as he passes by]

[Ven's propped the baseball bat over his shoulder as he turns to go, but then the hair ruffling.]

Terraaaaaa! Quit it, I'm not a kid anymore!

[Aqua just smiles at the hair ruffling. Some things never change, do they?]

[Terra smirked, looking over his shoulder]

You know I can't do that Ven. You're getting a head rub until you're at least taller than me.
