(no subject)

[Today it's the return of people fighting against the darker selves, as Cambot turns to the corner to find Aqua facing down her other self. By the looks of things, they're on the weapons deck, and Aqua's shade had has picked a lightweight wooden sword to counter Aqua's keyblade with. This isn't going to be a one-sided fight - the shade has already seen to that.

Still, Aqua isn't charging in either. She's letting the shade speak for herself, although the expression on her face makes it quite clear she isn't buying any of the shade's words.]

How dare you speak of them like that!

[It's what you've always wanted to say, the shade whispers, silent to anyone but her. Think of what you could be without them.]

This isn't about them! It's about what you've done.

[And with nothing more than that, Aqua charges into the fray. It's time to end this and she's not about to let her shade get to her any more that it already has. The sooner it's down the better.]

[She'd known. She'd known that her 'real' self would have problems with her acting as she had. That's why she had done them. However, she had not done so without making sure that she couldn't deal with her other self. No sense in going in blind. She wasn't about to let anything keep her from what she meant to do. That was why she was here, weapon in hand, as Aqua came rushing in.

It was child's play to block the incoming keyblade. They were one and the same. Aqua posed little problem.]

[Of course. Of course her mirror would be able to block. For all that she'd fought any number of things before it was quite another thing to fight someone who knew everything she did. Someone who would know the best moves Aqua could use to her advantage. Someone who not only could but would counter damned near anything Aqua threw at her.

But so be it. If it was going to be a challenge, she could manage and she wasted no time in launching an offensive. She would take her darker self down.]

[The shade laughed as Aqua came rushing in. How very easy it had been provoke her into attacking. It was laughable. People and their attachments. She neither needed nor wanted them, and if Aqua couldn't see that, well. She could out-wait her.

It wasn't really like any of the attacks so far had been hard to block.]

[Aqua took a step back as it become blatantly obvious that simply attacking wasn't going to work. If she'd still had her magic, she would have turned to that to solve the problem. Since she didn't, and since she knew the shade was unlikely to walk into a trap given the way she'd reacted to Rarity's earlier attempt, it was time to turn to something else.

So with a deep breath she launched into one of the more acrobatically inspired attacks. With any luck it would prove more successful than her previous attacks.]

[Oh, now that was interesting. It was still child's play to get out of the way of the attack, but it looked as if she'd finally managed to rouse something more than ire out of her double. If this was any indication of how fast she learned she might have to keep her around a little longer.

Might. Good learning skills weren't quite enough. But it was an improvement even if it wasn't actually a challenge yet.]

[...Of course it hadn't worked. Her shade had probably known exactly what move she been planning to use as soon as she'd gotten into position for it. Clearly she'd need to try something a little less simple. But what? She doubted that simply getting around to where her shade couldn't see would work, but... it was better than nothing.

And if she happened to cartwheel her way there, well. It was only habit.]

[Rarity has been silently watching the fight via Cambot. She's none too pleased at the shade that hurt her and obviously wants to hurt Aqua, but she knows that walking into this fight with her ankles still hurt will only put her in the way and make things that much more difficult for Aqua. Instead, she whispers something to her Cambot, who turns off his feed and sneaks down to the weapons deck.]

[A few minutes later, her Cambot arrives back at her saide and turns its feed on. A long staff has been moved from its place against the wall, laid instead on the floor behind the shade. A few steps back and it'll either step on the staff or trip over it. Either way, as indirect as it is, Rarity hopes it will help.]

[While Aqua has been pretty much focusing on her shade - it's only reasonable, all things considered - she can't quite keep her eyes from briefly flickering over towards Cambot as he zips past on the way to the weapons rack. It's not more than a moment, but her shade takes even that small a moment of distraction and manages to land a stinging blow on Aqua's shoulder.

That in turn gets a his of pain from Aqua and she turns back to her shade before she has a chance to see what Cambot's done. It's just as well though. If she doesn't know what's happened, she can't accidentally give away what she's expecting and she glares at the shade at she gets her keyblade back up to position.]

[How very dull. Here she'd thought she'd finally found someone of actual interest. Of course, that had been before her double's attention had flickered to something else. There simply wasn't any challenge in someone who couldn't even manage to keep her attention on the fight at hand. And really, did her double actually think she was going to look behind her for that?

Of course she wasn't. It was only the oldest trick in the book and obviously there wasn't anything behind her.]

[There's a brief moment of silence as Aqua stares her double down - as if it hasn't already been stared down enough thus far - as she makes sure that blow aside, her shoulder is working well enough to stand up to this next thing she has planned. It's an almost desperate plan, born of (hopefully) just enough crazy to catch her double off guard and not crazy enough to backfire horribly.

Taking one more deep breath, she charges, just as she would for Fire Surge or Barrier Surge and if she doesn't have the magic go with it, she's just going to make the most of it. With luck she can at least make her shade stumble a little.]
