Military Log - 008

[As people recover from the hangovers, you may notice that the hallways are not JUST covered in Christmas decorations any more. No, in the midst of all the chaos someone went through the entire Cafeteria deck and pasted various pictures of Elysia all over everything. Some have been blown up to be more like posters than actual pictures, but it's mostly just Elysia EVERYWHERE. A trail of these pictures can even be found going down to the dormitory decks, but it's not as bad as the cafeteria which looks like it EXPLODED with Elysia pictures.

Cambot shows all of this and eventually find the culprit, sleeping with a large stuffed animal (a dog) and curled up in the pantry. He is still wearing the Santa hat but no other part of the costume.]

[Snorts and squirms a bit.] Cake? But I want pie, come on you know that, honey.

[A minute passes as the voice sinks in and Maes sits up suddenly, he looks extremely disoriented, eyes darting around before resting on Pinkie Pie] Oh you're not---where---Pinkie why am I sleeping in the pantry?

[sailorlaughter]

[She giggles and leans forward to pluck a bit of food off his shoulder.] I dunno! Maybe you stayed up too late hanging all the pictures, silly!

[dadandgone]

Pictures? [He is confuesd]

[sailorlaughter]

Yeppers! [She nudges the pantry door open a little more, revealing more of the Elysia-patterned kitchen.] You sure had a ton of them, didn't you? I bet you could put them all over the whole SATELLITE!

[dadandgone]

[Well actually, it was probably copy machine he found, but Maes doesn't remember that. He stared baffled for a few minutes before grinning, doing a happy twirl]

THIS IS AMAZING~ MY LITTLE ELYSIA ALL OVER THE SATELLITE!

[sailorlaughter]

I KNOW! IT'S SO GREAT - TOTALLY BETTER THAN ALL THOSE BORING METAL WALLS!

[dadandgone]

WE SHOULD HAVE DECORATED LIKE THIS BEFORE! NOW EVERYONE CAN ADMIRE MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER WHILE THEY EAT. I HAVE TO FIND OUT HOW I MADE ALL OF THESE COPIES! WE CAN DECORATE MORE ROOMS LIKE THIS!

[sailorlaughter]

[suddenly snaps back to...relative normalcy]

Still, I can't remember what happened so I don't know how I made this many copies.

What do you think Pinkie?

[sailorlaughter]

Hmmmm...I dunno!

[Her gaze wanders around the room and quickly settles on the food machine.] Oooh, oooh, I know! You must've found a picture-making machine! One like this, only it makes pictures instead of food!

[dadandgone]

Oh hey maybe you're right. We've gotta find where it is and then I can make a whole lot of copies and put up more pictures! I can't wait to see Elysia in every room on the SoL.

[sailorlaughter]

Right!

...wait, do you remember where you were last night?

[dadandgone]

Actually...no.

I remember hanging out at the party and giving out some presents, but after that it's a complete blank.

[ponders] I don't recall having any alcohol either so it can't be that...hmmm.

[sailorlaughter]

Nope, it was the punch! It did that to pretty much everyone! Well, except for me, it just made me act all boring and STUPID.

I don't remember seeing you though, I was with Minako and Liz most of the time!

[dadandgone]

Wow, that's hard to believe. Although I guess it must have affected a lot of us, since I'm pretty sure a lot of people were drinking that punch.

I guess I made copies of those pictures and then stayed here. That's probably why you didn't see me.

[sailorlaughter]

Yep, that must be it! At least you picked a pretty nice place! [Yes, she totally views the pantry as an acceptable sleeping area.]

Hey, you want some breakfast or something? I was gonna make muffins!

[dadandgone]

Yeah, there are worse places to wake up. [He was in a war, he can think of several]

[Blink] Oh, you don't have to do that for me Pinkie...although I guess if you were going to make them anyway I'll have some. You want any help since I'm here?

[sailorlaughter]

[OH MY GOSH COOKING BUDDIES] Okie-dokie-lokie! Can you grab some of the flour up on that shelf there? I'll get the blueberriesssssss~

[dadandgone]

You got it.

[Admittedly he's not the best cook when compared to his wife, but he'd spent enough time in the kitchen helping his wife and he'd picked up a few things. And muffins weren't that hard to manage.

Maes turned back to the pantry and reached up for the flour, taking it down and bringing it back in]

I have to say, I'm curious to see you at work Pinkie.

[sailorlaughter]

[By the time he gets there, Pinkie's got a couple big bowls and an assortment of ingredients sitting out on the counter.]

Okie-dokie! First we gotta put the flour and baking powder and soda and stuff in THIS bowl! [She begins pouring the baking soda, talking through the box.] You shouldn't use real soda for this, though! It ends up being TOTALLY gross! Then put the egg, the sugar, the veggie oil, aaaaaaaand...the yogurt in that one!

[dadandgone]

You're the boss.

[Wow she works fast. He starts to pour in the flour, careful not to add TOO much into the bowl.

After that he reaches over and grabs the baking powder to add to the bowl as well. He makes a face at the idea of soda in muffins]

Eugh. You've done that before it sounds like?

[sailorlaughter]

Only once!

[Finishing with the other bowl, she grabs a whisk and slides it over to him, before picking another up in her mouth.] And now...WE WHISK!!!

[dadandgone]

[ Maes accepts the whisk and begins, well, whisking. Now he can add baking with a pony to his list of things he would never thought he would do ever or even think about never doing.

The SoL was weird like that]

[sailorlaughter]

[Pinkie certainly never thought before that she'd end up baking with a human before, especially since she'd never even HEARD of humans then! But that doesn't really occur to her much, and right now she's too busy whisking like a madpony to worry about it. She could give the Stir Whip Alien a run for its money in enthusiasm, if not creepiness.]

[Eventually she stops whisking and bounces over to peer into Maes's bowl.] Great job! Here, lemme pour this part in! [She didn't even really have to mix her ingredients separately, she just likes whisking. She pours her bowl in and bounces off.] You can mix in some blueberries now too! Just save some to put on top later!

[dadandgone]

All right. No problem. I'll just put these blueberries in this bowl for later.

[He sets some blueberries aside before adding in the rest to the mix and stirring it, making sure that berries were evenly distributed]

Do you have the oven pre-heated Pinkie?

[sailorlaughter]

[She comes bouncing back over with a newly-greased muffin pan in her mouth and drops it on the counter to look at Maes's work again.]

You bet! That looks really even - now we can pour it out and put the other blueberries on top! The top is the BESTEST part of the muffin, see, so we have to make sure it gets a TON of berries!

[dadandgone]

[He nods and starts carefully pouring the batter into the muffin pans. There are a few times it drips, but over all it's not a bad or uneven batch.]

Alright, I put the extra blueberries in that bowl. Why don't you put them on top to make sure it's just right?

[sailorlaughter]

Okie-dokie-lokie! [She likes teaching people how to bake new things, but she also likes doing it herself! She grabs the berries and scatters them, taking special care to make sure each muffin has about the same amount. Then she pops the whole thing in the oven.]

And now we just wait! Wasn't that FUN?

Thank YOU so so SO much for helping! Baking with friends is SO much more fun than baking alone, and it was already really really fun, so now it's really really super-ultra-DUPER fun!
