Military Log - 002

[Maes is out of his military uniform, now wearing a simple black shirt and some pants. Although you can probably see the military jacket hanging up in the background. He's leaning back in a chair at his desk, looking thoughtful. Of course, he has the Cambot on so does he have a reason for posting. Finally he sits forward, letting the chair legs hit the floor again. He waves.]

Greetings everyone! Just wanted to check in and see how you all were doing. Now that I'm settled in I've had the chance to think a little more about our situation. I can't say that I know anything about it, but I figure we need to start looking for answers at some point. The best way to start that is by collecting data. Any information you can give me will be helpful. After all, I get the feeling that a lot of you have been here for awhile before I got here.

[Scratches his chin] Actually, that might not be a bad place to start. So how long have you been here? When did all of this start happening? And what were you doing before you got here? [pauses to consider] Hmm, when you're from might be a good question too. Since apparently I'm the only one from 1914.

[Looks up] And don't worry! If you don't want to broadcast this information I've already sent Cambot around with a paper version of the survey you can fill out anonymously! You should find it under your door.

That's quite a long time to be here. [Making notes in his notebook] What's the world of darkness?

[frowns a bit] Well, like, what year is it that you come from? I realize we might not all have the same numbering system but there might be some pattern or something to be found and if I could get dates that would be helpful.

For once place, yeah, it's been a little while.

[Sora thinks it's pretty self-explanatory...] It's...the world of darkness. There's really nothing there but darkness and Heartless.

I just can't say...Donald and Goofy and I were asleep for a long time, and then we went traveling to lots of other worlds, all with different times. And then the world of darkness has time move really strangely...I don't know when it was back home.

Quite a traveler then. I knew some boys who were traveling like that about your age...though they just stuck to our country and didn't visit other worlds, I mean, it's not exactly possible since we don't have space travel. Of course, if anyone was going to take their journey into space it would be those two. [Fond smile as he thinks of the Elrics.]

In any case, I've never heard of Heartless before.

Yeah, I guess you do need a gummi ship to get from world to world. [He notices the smile.] What boys?

Good thing, then. They're really dangerous; they steal people's hearts! [Good job keeping boundaries between worlds, Sora!]

Gummi ship?

O-oh, that would be the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse. They're about your age I think. Hard to tell though since Ed's so short and Al is in that suit of armor. I don't have a picture of them unfortunately or I would show you.

You mean they kill people?

Yeah, it's a ship you can use to travel to other worlds. It's made up of gummi blocks.

[Sora listens.] You never know...maybe they'll show up here.

Basically, yeah. [Death is kind of weird in his understanding, but losing your heart is close enough to it.]

They do look kinda edible...but it'd be a pretty bad idea to eat them.
