Someone hates his luck.

[Cambot finds Roxas in the kitchen, in all his black-and-white cartoony glory and having somehow managed to navigate the minefield of banana peels without slipping. He's fetching ice for some reason. Huh, now why would he be wrapping a little plastic baggy of ice in a towel?

When he turns to face Cambot, he's holding the makeshift ice pack to his face, his left eye in particular, and he does NOT look happy. He glares for just a moment before removing the ice pack and giving a good view of a marvelous shiner.

That looks painful...

He puts the ice pack back before speaking up.]

Chibi. Sora. I found that ball you guys were talking about.

[He pulls a red ball out of his pocket, holds it up for Cambot to look at and then puts it away again. The last thing they need is for it to get set bouncing again.]

[Xion's look is mimicking Sora's and Roxas's this week. Seeing the black eye, she winces in sympathy.]

You okay with just the ice pack?

Yeah. There's not much else that can be done for it.

[Not without magic, anyway. He's not sure what he would have done if he hadn't had magic available after Lexeaus's 'lesson' about last ditch powers...]

[Magic, or a potion, though using either of those for a black eye seems kind of extravagant to Xion.]

Okay. If it starts to feel like it might be something worse, let me know?

[Eye injuries are no joke, and Xion has apparently declared herself the resident medic on the satellite.]

Okay.

[He's pretty sure the only way it could be worse is if the thing had hit him with bone breaking force rather than just bruising force.]

[Considering the general lack of swelling, that doesn't seem to be the case. Especially since he's not complaining about a headache, double vision, or anything else that one would thing would come of being hit in the face/head with bone-breaking force. Xion's just being a bit of a worrier.]

I wonder if the fact that we're cartoon characters meant it didn't hurt you as much as it could have.

That has possibilities.

[Oh, he knows what it's like to get hit in the face with bone breaking force. It had something to do with someone's idea of a lesson. Which is why he was both mentally keysmashing and not surprised when Aeleus replied.]

I guess it's good that, if this kind of thing can happen, we can deal with it more easily.

[Considering all the times they'd fought against Heartless, they're pretty good at judging how badly they're hurt. Xion remembers Roxas mentioning that lesson.]

I guess it is. I just wish Sora wouldn't take it as a reason not to worry too much about the possibility of getting hurt.

[It is kind of natural to learn those limits when you spend a lot of time fighting. Roxas kind of wishes he could forget that lesson.]

[That makes Xion shake her head, looking like she doesn't know whether or not to be amused or exasperated.]

He's trying to look on the bright side again? As long as he doesn't go looking for trouble...

[Eventually, if you don't learn you don't come back.

That lesson is the-lesson-that-shall-not-be-named.]

[Roxas is definitely exasperated.]

He doesn't usually look for trouble intentionally, but he's seriously lacking in common sense.

[There can be other causes for not coming back, but Roxas isn't going to mention any of the ones he can think of. As to that lesson, the punch in the face wasn't even really part of the lesson, just a way to speed things up. That rather sucked, to be honest.]

Sometimes he doesn't look before he leaps.

[While there's something to be said for trusting that the worst will never happen, caution is good, too.

Some things are better left unmentioned. Well, it was either the punch or fighting heartless until he got hurt enough to try a limit. Which would he have rather had?]

Only sometimes?

[Caution is very good.

He would have preferred not have his nose broken.]

[Well, she hates to admit of her Original, but...]

Okay, all the time.

[Yeah, that can't have been pleasant. She'll agree with him on that, too.]

Heeeey! Come on you guys, I am not that dumb!

I'm not convinced.

[Roxas is trying to give Sora a seemingly serious line face, but he's a little too amused at Sora's indignance. There's the faintest hint that he's going to start cracking up.]

Well you'll be convinced!

[He knows Roxas is just riling him up for his amusement...but he can't help it, it's his pride at stake!]

Riight.

[And Roxas gives up and starts laughing. Sora's not convincing anyone of any level of intelligence by rising to the bait when he knows he's being baited.]

[Boys. Xion can't help rolling her eyes, though she's smiling slightly.]

Until the next time someone you barely know needs help and you offer it without asking any questions?

[Sora's just going to ignore that laughter for now, because of course Roxas would do that.]

Well...yeah, because they'd need help.

[Xion smiles and shakes her head. Of course Sora would say that, and wanting to help is a good thing, but...]

Just be careful, okay?

[Because with so many people's hearts connected to his, it's not just his safety that's on the line, but she's not going to point that out over Cambot.]

Of course I will!

[He does catch on to some of what she means, too.]
