[Then she finally seems to realize where she is, blinks, and looks around in confusion.]

[Namine smiles, but still looks a little confused.]

Yes, but how did I get here? What happened to the snake.

We brought you there! The snake's gone; Riku killed it.

[Well, that makes sense, though she's sorry to have put them through the trouble. She relaxes a little on hearing that the snake was killed, though now she's concerned for Riku.]

I heard--Riku got really hurt.

Yeah...that thing will petrify or kill anyone who looks into its eyes, so Riku tried to fight with mirrors and a blindfold on. I think it was the best thing we could do.

Roxas mentioned that it could do that. So Riku tried to fight it alone?

[Namine does not like that idea, though she knows Riku can take care of himself.]

[Once seeing that Namine is awake, Ammy immediately comes to see her painting partner, checking to make sure she's really all right now.]

[Namine sees Ammy heading her way and gets out of bed, the better to let her friend in when she arrives.]

[Ammy's there in a little bit, and comes inside once the door is opened for her. She immediately gives Namine some nuzzles.]

[Namine responds to the nuzzles with hugs and pettings. She's glad to see Ammy is okay.]

Sorry to worry you so much.

[She's all right now, and that's what matters! Ammy wags her tail at the hugs and pettings. They should paint together again now that she's all right.]

[So many visitors to get ready for. Namine should clean her room. Not that it's really ever messy.]

Thank you, but I don't even know what happened. I was using my mirror because I thought something was following me, and then there was this snake...

[Namine smiles back. While she's sorry that they were so worried, it's also nice to know they care.]

Yes, but...what happened. I remember there was a snake.

It was a basilisk. Apparently, looking directly in its eyes is lethal, but seeing a reflection or seeing it through something only turns people to stone.

[It takes her a moment to take in what he says and its implications re: what happened to her.]

[A smile of relief washes over Riku's face. He looks like he's seen better days, though. His arms sport a few bruises and bandages, and one arm is covered in small cuts. Most notably are the first and second degree burns across his eyes which he can't quite hide. None of it hinders his smile.]

The snake's gone. ...Welcome back.

[Namine's smile is somewhat dampened by concern for him.]

Thank you, and that's good, but...Riku, what happened? It looks like I was asleep for a while, and you're hurt.

[Now that she knows the snake is gone, there's nothing keeping her from heading out that door and going to see what she can do for him.]

[He still just looks relieved.] It's nothing time won't heal, and it's not as bad as it looks. [For someone who's broken bones, been slashed in the side and had his heart tossed into the Realm of Darkness, this is true. These are superficial wounds.] It had to do with something weird while fighting the basilisk. ...My blindfold caught on fire.

[That's not very reassuring, considering she knows what he's been through and his tendency to downplay how hurt he is. Besides, those injuries still look pretty bad.]

Yeah. Considering what the look from a basilisk will do to camera film, I guess it makes sense. [Well he won't say they don't hurt. That being said, he'd still take that over the raptor encounter, though he got souvenirs from both.]
