[Cambot is panning over the farm area of the nature deck. The entire field is now plowed and even sowed, it looks like! It must have been fairly recent since nothing seems to be sprouting yet. At the edge of the field, Big Macintosh is standing, a watering can in his mouth, watering a plot.

He sets the can aside and sits down, staring at the mound of dirt where the seeds he just watered are. He shifts to get comfortable, prodding it gently with a hoof, then sets his head on his forelegs, still staring at the seeds. He looks a little disappointed...maybe he's not used to it taking this long?]

[Terra tilts his head.]

Are you...trying to grow crops? It will take longer if you just sit and watch like that.

Eeeyup.

[He's been tending this field for about a week now and he hasn't even seen a sprout yet! This isn't normal big human person 8(]

And you're just...waiting for them to grow?

[sailoryup]

...yup. [._. it's not like he has anything else to do.]

Well if...you're sure.

There's other things to do up here though.

[He tilts his head. He doesn't really know much of anything to do up here...he's still trying to cope with the fact that he's in space.]

You know...there's the theatrical deck and I work out in the gym a lot. Or if you're the book type I know they updated the library recently so there are some actually decent things there.

[He's not as big a reader as Twilight, perhaps, but the library sounds good. Or the gym.

He's not used to having that much time for it though, if this is going to take so long...]

Whatcha trying to grow, there?

[sailoryup]

[Big Mac looks up, then points to a sign he put by the plot with a picture of an apple tree on it. In the distance there are more signs, looks like carrots, celery and hay.]

Oh, neat! It'll be nice to have some fresh produce instead of just what the replicators make... but don't apple trees take years to grow?

[.....do they?! Sure it takes a long time back home but not THAT long...]

What's the matter? Is it different where you're from or something?

[sailoryup]

Eeyup.

[wefallinsilence]

[After a moment of silence, Ienzo comes up beside Big Mac. What's going on over here?]

[sailoryup]

[...? Who's that behind him? Big Mac looks up and...oh, a young colt? He just looks the boy over curiously.]

[wefallinsilence]

[Ienzo simply blinks back at him, apparently unconcerned about being looking over by a brightly colored pony. After a further moment of silence however, he points at the patch of dirt, with a curious tilt of his head.

He's surely not waiting for them to grow, is he?]

[Eeeeyup. He is. He nods.]

[wefallinsilence]

[There's a moment of silence, as Ienzo's eyes flick over to the signs, and then back to patches of dirt. Have they just been planted?]

They aren't going to sprout soon.

[sailoryup]

[Big Mac sighs. Yup...he's getting that impression.]

[wefallinsilence]

[This time the silence is more contemplative. Obviously there has to be some reason Big Mac's still staying here, and he doesn't think it's because waiting for plants to sprout is very enjoyable.]

How long?

[The question could either be how long has Big Mac been waiting, or how long is he used to it taking; Ienzo would be fine with either answer, and so he doesn't clarify.]

About a week.

It's going to take months.

[sailoryup]

[He looks surprised at that. And then disappointed. To be honest, he really wants to keep himself busy with farmwork because it dulls the edge of the homesickness. He misses applebuck season already.]

[wefallinsilence]

[That's an expression that Ienzo knows all too well. He doesn't mind not being at home, but he's always been too curious for his good.]

Time travel?

[That just garners a blink. What about it? He'd heard such a thing existed from Twilight but...]

[wefallinsilence]

[Ienzo simply points to where the seeds have been planted by way of answer. If it's going to take time for these to grow, why not find a way to get plants that are already grown?]

[Ammy wanders down to the nature deck as well, when she spots another one of the ponies by what looks like several plots of dirt. She trots over, and sniffs at them...what is he growing?]

[Big Mac's ears perk up and he looks over at Ammy. He doesn't mind her presence; he likes dogs, even if she is a might bigger than Winona.]

[Ammy looks back up at him, then back at the ground, and paws at it. Truth be told, Ammy is actually used to things growing very quickly, too. At least when she wants them to.]

[He tilts his head. Does she know something about the soil?]

[yabigfurball]

[Only some very marginal things about soil...mostly her solution to growing is "draw a seed here and it will turn into a tree." She sort of shrugs. She then pulls out a piece of paper and draws herself next to a tree, with a green line going from her to the tree: showing how she normally grows things.]

[Big Macintosh lives with ponies who can sew, bake, and sell quills; a dog drawing is nothing unusual, really. He looks at her drawing, and at the seeds, then back to her. She's somehow connected to plants?]

[Ammy nods yes. Normally, she can make plants grow quickly. She again paws at the ground to show that she's interested in what he's planting and why it's not growing as fast.]
