So...I can talk to other people this way, right?
[The video feed shakes up and down as Cambot nods.]
Really? Great!
...Wait, there are other people around, aren't there? Because crash landing in a space station ghost town wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Oh, it's not so bad! At least we've got our health. And our hearts. Would hate not to have one of those.
no subject
I'm pretty sure the heart thing could be lumped in with 'health'? Because.
Yeah.
Kinda need a heart to be healthy, there.
no subject
Are you sure? I don't think the bad guys in my world ever got the memo.
no subject
--don't tell me you've got zombies or something.
no subject
No, not zombies. There's this guy...Ansem? And he, um, "sacrificed his heart to the darkness," right? So from then on, he's been running around without a heart--or, more literally, he's been running around as a disembodied heart--and...
Hm. Maybe it is a sort of zombie thing.
no subject
You lost me at 'Ansem'. How in the worlds does someone live with no heart? Or a disembodied heart. Or...
Owwww.

I try not to think about it too much. It's the only thing keeping me sane.
What's your world like? Where do you come from?
no subject
Well... first off, it's not just a world, so this'll be pretty hard. I'm practically all over, in different galaxies half the time. But...
Hm.
It depends on whether you wanna hear a sob story or something more uplifting?
no subject
Oh, come on. I wanna hear both stories. [She plucks her Cambot out of the air and sits down with it on her lap.] If you're up for it.

I lived most of my life on a place called Veldin, on the Kyzil Plateau. In all that time, I'd been working on something that could take me to the other worlds. It was just about finished when I'd met Clank for the first time, and I kinda mistook him for part of the ship at first. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably still be back at home, wondering what to do next.
...the first world, though. I honestly can't say I remember all that much about it, but it was a place called Fastoon. It was where I was born, before something really bad happened, and almost everything was wiped out.
In... cluding my family.

And with Clank missing now... he's all I got, y'know? I need to find him.
no subject
...I'm gonna help you look for him. You said you had mistaken him for a part of your ship?
no subject
He's a little silver robot - green eyes, talks bigger than his size. But I don't think he's got a bad circuit on his entire motherboard. Clank'll talk you more into peace than pulling a weapon.
no subject
He sounds like one cool little guy. I'll look everywhere for him.
And if we don't find him, then we'll find a way to bring him here. I mean...we're here, right?
no subject
But then, he smiles fondly, feeling a wave of relief at her statement.]
...Thanks. It's good to hear it from someone else every now and then. Growing up by myself, not knowing a real family, or who my parents were...
Ahh.
I really appreciate it. And whatever's going on with him, we're gonna help the best we can, right?
--no. We will help him. Even if it means he's gotta be stuck on this crack-pot of a ship, I just wanna make sure he's okay.
no subject
And, hey... This kooky ship could be worse. Because we've still got our health.
And our hearts.

Thank you.
