[Whiule he's waiting he experiments a little and finds that holding stuff in his wings isn't going to work like it did when he was a Pokemon. At least, not for something as small as a writing instrument. Bird talons aren't particularly dexterous, but they are more useful for holding something than wings and he does seem to have an easier time manipulating a pen-sized stick that way than with his wings.
The ink brush makes it more obvious that it's Ammy offering this help, but it's nice that she thought to bring the pens. Link's more accustomed to using an inkwell and a bird feather or similar item for a stylus. The pens many others use are closer to this than the brush, but he realizes the brush may be easier for him in his current form. Still, he decides to try the more familiar first... and manages to tear the paper right away. Which was the exact reason he was thinking the brush might be a better idea. Ah well. It's a learning experience.
There is another small problem. Even if he can write legibly, there's a small possibility that no one's going to be able to read it anyway as the writing system he knows may not be in use here. Although, he does know that Saria is from the same world, albeit a different time. Maybe she can read it, but first he needs to see if he can even write like this.]
