[Well, ladies and gentlemen. A mysterious letter writer has struck. Only this time, someone has left something on Ven's and Roxas' doors. Hmm!

Oh, wait, no, Iron Liz and Linkara also have similar notes on their doors. However, Linkara's is addressed from Iron Liz and vice versa, and also says to meet at a different time and date than that of the ones for Ven and Roxas. Hmmm...

[Ven isn't annoyed or anything by the note left on his door - he's confused. What's a secret admirer, anyway? He can take a guess based on the meaning of the words, but he doesn't get why it has to be secret. If he does something well, won't most people just come out and say it? That's always been the way it's happened in the past.]

[So about two minutes after discovering that note, Ven is going looking for Aqua, paper in hand. Hopefully the big sister can make sense of this, because he sure isn't.]

[For once, Aqua is actually in her room. Even though the books she - and the satellite - got over Christmas don't number very many, they're still a vast improvement over the books in what passes for a library here. Besides, after the experiment this week, she's not sure she wants to try the media deck right now. So when Ven comes knocking on her door, she opens it after only a brief pause.]

Ven?

This was left on my door. [Ven has no idea he's signing over someone's death warrant by handing over the paper.] What's a 'secret admirer'?

[There's a pause as she runs over answers in her head.]

It means someone wants to have sex with you.

Uhh... okay. [He knows that Aqua face. That's the "Aqua did something she doesn't like and doesn't want to explain it" face. He's learned better than to ask questions when she has that face on.]

[So Ven will just be taking his note and going in search of Terra now.]

[Terra is wandering down the hall, hoping to go get something to snack on in the Cafeteria before heading to the gym. He sees Ven and waves]

Hey Ven. Where are you off to?

Looking for you, actually. [And he hands Terra the note.] I found that on my door, and I went to ask Aqua what a secret admirer was, and she said it was someone who wanted to have sex with me, but when I asked her what sex was she got all flustered and told me to ask you. So, what's sex?

[Terra takes the note, half reading it while Ven speaks, it's short though so it doesn't take long.]

What? A secret admirer isn't necessarily...wait sex? Why does she want me to tell you what sex is?

[Well that expression isn't something he's too used to seeing, and Ven's kind of wondering if Terra's feeling okay now.]

I don't know, she made that face and told me to ask you. Are you feeling okay? You look kind of pale and... washed out.

[Terra swallows. Why would Aqua think sending Ven to him was a good idea? True, he didn't expect AQUA to tell him, but he wasn't ready to have this sort of conversation with someone.

It hit him that he had always expected the Master to do this. They knew Ven didn't know much about his past, including things like this. Even if he had remembered his past, he was raised by an old, bald, evil man who wanted nothing to do with Ven but to use him as a tool. And, now the Master was gone...leaving Terra the logical choice.

He REALLY didn't want to do that though and besides what experience did he have with sex ANYWAY]

Well, that is...I'm fine you just...caught me off guard there Ven.

But, really, sex doesn't have anything to do with having a secret admirer necessarily. It just means whoever sent you this letter likes you a lot and really looks up to you. They probably want to get to know you better which is why they left this note.

[Terra calmed down a bit, maybe he could steer Ven away from a conversation about sex]

[Oh. Okay. Ven shrugs a bit and listens to the rest of Terra's explanation. He definitely gets the feeling that that's not a topic Terra's comfortable with, but fortunately he's got other options now. He'll just stick with what Terra wants to, which was his original question anyway, and save the rest for later. No point in making Terra uncomfortable, after all.]

So they look up to me? I guess that's pretty cool. [And he rubs the back of his head as he thinks.] Why couldn't they just say it, though? Why all these notes and everything?

[Dodged a bullet there Terra...or did you?]

Yeah, that's the easiest way to explain it anyway.

It's probably from a girl, girls like to build up these kinds of things into something really romantic. They make a bigger deal out of things than they really are, that's all.

[Yeah no, he didn't. He just doesn't know it yet.]

...Romantic? Like in those books you used to give me?

...But that doesn't make any sense. [Seriously, to him it doesn't.] If she wants to talk to me, why doesn't she just talk to me?

Girls can be weird like that. [shrug, he doesn't have THAT much experience with it Ven, jeeze]

[YOU ARE OLDER THAN HIM AND KNOW WHAT ONE IS that is automatically more experience.]

They've gotta be. So, do you think I should go meet her like she wants me to?

[He thinks about that for a moment]

Well, that would probably be the polite thing to do. Even if you aren't interested in returning the admiration, it would be rude to just not show up I think.

Yeah, she went to all this trouble, it seems wrong to just leave her there.

[He's pretty much already made up his mind.]

Exactly. It takes a lot of courage to approach someone you like and ask them, even if it is anonymous.

[He's still not quite getting the concept of "like" as Terra's using it, but he thinks he is.]
